Conditions warm up as we move across the weekend and high pressure heads out to the east. Weak disturbances may bring a little wet weather from time to time, but it won't add up to much.
The next proper cold front arrives on Tuesday.
Cold air arrives in the middle for upper slopes and towards the end for lower elevations. So it will be rain changing to snow, and elevation will play a big part of how much snow ends up falling. Just a centimetre or two under 1600 metres, but the potential for 5 to 20 cm above (with the 10 - 20 cm range for the highest peaks).
As always, look for the different models to align in terms of timing of when the cold air arrives. If they are anywhere from morning to evening then you know there is low confidence in this period - but when the spread is tight and they all say something similar, then confidence increases in the outcome.
It warms up again after this cold front, potentially significantly. That means the next system also begins too warm. It's a full week ahead at this stage, but there may be something good brewing for next weekend.
