Weekly Weather Outlook

A Week of Severe Rain, Storms and a Cold Snap

Northern New South Wales, Queensland, and Southern NT are bracing for a wet and potentially stormy week, with heavy rainfall and the risk of thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, a strong cold front at the start of the week is expected to move through southeastern Australia and push north into southern Queensland. This system will bring a noticeable change in conditions, with temperatures shifting from warm to very cold.

In parts of southern Australia, there is even the potential for snow at elevations as low as 1,000 metres, depending on how the system develops.

Western Australia, by comparison, looks set to experience a much quieter week, with predominantly dry and stable conditions expected across much of the state.

The East Coast is the region to watch closely this week. With potentially treacherous weather on the way, stay alert to changing conditions, monitor official weather warnings and keep an eye on the latest forecast updates and weather footage as the system unfolds.
