Impressive rain falls over NSW, with more to come for the east

Focusing on NSW, where the ANZAC long weekend rain system really delivered - for much of the state.

A few that missed out:

Deniliquin 0.2mm

Wagga Wagga 0mm

The low concentrated the falls on the southwest, then across central and northern parts, then the coast where Lake Macquarie near Newcastle had one of the highest with 165mm. The low skipped much of the Riverina and southwest slopes.

Cut off lows deliver wander slowly - but it's only those in their path that see the rain.

The next weather system has no connection to tropical moisture, so it is only what it brings with it from the Tasman Sea.

This means the coast sees significant rain (still to come) this week - while inland areas miss out. See how the totals progressively get smaller as you head westwards on the forecast map:
